“Aura Blackstar: Bowie Cello Symphonic LIVE” is an immersive concert and visual experience of “Bowie Cello Symphonic: Blackstar” co-produced by cellist Maya Beiser, conductor and arranger Evan Ziporyn, and Harmonix co-founder Alex Rigopulos. “Aura Blackstar” is a live performance from the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston, MA, featuring Maya Beiser as solo cellist with the Ambient Orchestra conducted by Evan Ziporyn. Animated projections flood the floor around Beiser, reacting in real time to the sound emanating from her cello. New technology created by Secret Portal VR uses virtual reality spatial sensors and a software mapping system to project the imagery directly onto Beiser’s cello, even as it moves.
